    1. Consider adoption. Adopting a dog instead of buying one is one of the surest ways to strike a blow against puppy mills. To find the perfect match, you’ll want to choose the right one for you and your lifestyle. Animal shelters have dozens of dogs, many of them purebreds, just waiting for homes. There are also breed specific rescue groups for every breed of dog, including “designer” or “hybrids” like Labradoodles and Puggles. Mixed-breed dogs also make wonderful pets

I love dogs! STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY! PET STORE WORKERS SHOULD BE PROSECUTED FOR SELLING PUPPY MILL DOGS JUST TO GET MONEY!!

If you want to get a pet, think about these questions:

    1. How long are you going to keep that pet?
    2. Do you have what it takes to keep that pet?
    3. How are you going to raise that pet?
    4. Where did that pet come from?

The American Kennel Club vigorously opposes any sterilization of animals. For every animal registered with the AKC, of which Puppy mills comprise 80% of the AKC’s business, they charge $20 per dog and $25 per litter (plus $2 per puppy).

In 2006 the American Kennel Club registered 870,000 individual dogs and 416,000 litters, earning $30 million in revenues from registration of dogs born in puppy mills.

  13. CDLver says:

Puppy mills are a sickening business. There are over 6,000 federally licensed breeding kennels in the U.S. (and untold numbers of unlicensed) producing an estimated 2 – 4 million animals a year. Approximately 3,500 pet stores in the U.S. sell 500,000 puppies a year from puppy mills.

Wholesale dog breeding and the shipment of live animals are regulated by the USDA under the Animal Welfare Act. The law, however, is poorly enforced. The USDA has few agents to inspect puppy mills nationwide.

Good vid! Lot’s of people don’t know what’s behind most cute little pets they see in stores. Also people buy them impulsively and later dump them. Young girls and guineapigs is a big example. CUTE! they say and after a month the pet is neglected.
